Best of British South Pole Expedition

It is 100 years since Capt Robert Scott left these shores to "claim the South Pole for Britain" only to be beaten by the Norwegian Roald Amundsen. Today, the record is still held by the Norwegians for the “fastest, unsupported, unassisted crossing from edge of continent to South Pole” in a time of 24 days, 8 hours, 50 minutes. The Best of British South Pole Expedition will break this record and bring it home.

St Mary's has a long history of hosting and supporting elite athletes competing on the international stage, and are rightly proud of the services they provide to them.

The St Mary's Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre (EPACC) was formed by Sport St Mary's in Partnership with Virgin London Marathon with who's backing they have helped provide specialist facilities including dedicated on-site accommodation for GB athletes such as Mo Farah, Andy Baddeley, Jemma Simpson, James Brewer and Andrew Osagie

However, the Centres are not limited to these clients.  Whether you want some general advice on getting started with an exercise programme, or you want to hone your performance with some highly specialised advice, CHASES can help you.  .
